Lema Ranch

How Do We Maintain All This Property?

The Maintenance Facility is a constant hive of activity. A staff of 20 starts their days there, then fans out onto the 200-acre Lema Ranch, the adjacent Churn Creek trails property, and the park on Park Marina Drive, which is owned and maintained by the Foundation. Daily tasks change with the season, from persimmon harvesting in the fall, to taking care of downed trees after winter storms. At the Maintenance Facility, seedlings and trees are started, equipment is housed, and the land manager juggles the constant demands made to keep the properties in top shape for public use.
